What a weekend that was, amIright?! From amazing premieres like On Air to the Nairobi Street Food Festival, and then Sean Paul, all in a few days. I'm sure that if you love going out you caught at least one of these events. So anyway, Sean Paul was at the KICC on December 1st of 2024 for "Who Said Sean Paul?", and it was lit! To begin with, there wasn't teargas or mishandling of fans like what happened at DJ Uncle Waffles' event...
Fans were extremely excited about this concert, with the last one in Kenya being a lengthy twenty years ago. The crowd had an amazing time, dancing and singing along to the songs that they were familiar with, including bangers like "Gimme the Light" and "Temperature."
There were plenty of celebrities at the function, such as Redsan, The Arbantone Crew, Diana Marua, and many more. They all shared the event on their social media platforms, leaving plenty of evidence that they had an amazing time. It was also clear that there's a lot of natural talent in Kenya based on the crowd's reactions to the curtain raisers.
At one point, the dancehall star wiped his face with a towel and then tossed it into the crowd. After a brief tussle, one of the ladies got a hold of it and she couldn't hide her excitement as the night progressed, putting it in her bag to keep it safe. This was clearly one for the millennials, who grew up on Sean Paul and other dancehall tracks.
While there's been a recent rediscovery of the fact that music consists of beats, a vibe, and lyrics, this night was clearly one for reminiscing about the days when the lyrics were just background effects. Now we know (probably too late) that we should have been listening and not just dancing and vibing along. Let me see my darkening thoughts out before I infect you all, but keep it Geekspeak for more entertainment and mostly pop culture news 🙂
Have a Friday!
Then have a weekend, then a week, etc.
That's how it goes. I don't know why I felt the need to tell you...
Do you like it when I do that? lol
